Lomo Gloves

We have just received some interesting gloves from Lomo Watersports. They look ideal for the winter months, particularly with the weather which is heading towards the UK this weekend. These are our initial thoughts on this new equipment:
Lomo have launched a new kayaking glove just in time for winter. They have taken a new approach to gloves and really looked at why so many kayakers don’t like them, even when their hands are freezing cold. Lomo have used a different material to most of the neoprene palmed gloves on the market and designed a glove where the back and sides are made from neoprene for warmth, but the palm is made from a thin Amara material which gives a really good feel on the shaft, and slips on a shaft in a similar way to skin. Amara, is also very abrasion resistant and is great for working with throw lines/tow lines etc. and if you’ve ever tried pulling in a loaded throw line in freezing conditions with bare hands you’ll know how painful this can be. Lomo are confident that this new approach will convert many “no gloves” paddlers when they see then benefits and comfort levels offered by their new gloves. Priced at £10 they are also damn good value, and as always, they are available only directly from Lomo themselves. Lomo can be reached on 0141 221 7674 or through their website www.LomoWatersport.com.
We hope to put the gloves through a more thorough testing in the next couple of weeks, so that we can provide extra feedback on our experience over a longer period of time.
