Carrickfergus Castle

I was out for a paddle today, squeezing one in before night shift starts and thought maybe you could use these photos of my town's landmark, (Carrickfergus Castle) built over 800 years ago by John de Courcy it sits looking out over Belfast Lough and has seen many wars, it was besieged by the French, Scots, Irish, and the English. The last time it was needed was during the second world war, while Belfast was being blitzed the keep in the castle was used as an air raid shelter! Nowadays the only people invading are tourists by land and odd kayaker by sea.
