Fort Grey - Guernsey

Fort Grey Maritime Museum

It is located on the west coast of Guernsey, close to the Hanois reef which is the site of numerous shipwrecks.  So not surprisingly it is a museum of shipwrecks.  It was built in 1804 as part of the island's defences against the French, who were threatening the Channel Islands at the time.  It is linked to the main island of Guernsey by a causeway, known locally as the Cup and Saucer. It was converted into a museum in 1976.

It is open from 10.00 -17.00 April to October and the charge is currently £3.00.
