How far up the beach?

A terrible dilemma for some paddlers when landing - how far up the beach do we need to take the boats? The bands of seaweed on this steep shelving beach clearly indicates the heights of previous high tides - the height of the last high tide being the LOWER band. So anywhere above that lower band should be OK! But bear in mind that you will need to allow for the odd rogue wave, swell or wash from a passing ship!
