Historical Sites

For many of us whilst out sea kayaking, it is the natural environment which attracts us but to concentrate on this exclusively is to miss out on some fascinating background information. All of the articles in this section reflect the rich diversity of our historical past. Sea kayaks are a unique craft which allow access to sites as diverse as Er Lannic in Morbihan and the Garvellachs off the west coast of Scotland.

An understanding of the human impact on the coastal environment can only help enhance the quality of our paddling experience. If we are working as kayaking coaches, knowledge of the historical traditions of the area in which we are working can only add to the enjoyment of our students.
