The float secured 2 metres from clip

The float on the tow line is usually located near the clip...so that the clip floats. However, when runing the clip under a deck line as in the case of towing two kayaks (victim and rescuer .. rafted tow) the float often gets snagged or otherwise hung-up, especially when removing the tow line out from under the deck line.

Secure the float 2 metres from the end of the tow line - the line still floats and the float does not interfere when running the clip under a deck line.
