White bit of plastic

This on your deck  can be very useful

I have found that having this bit of plastic on my deck very useful. I use it to note important information such as tidal information, pre calculated bearings on that long crossing and even names of paddlers when I'm coaching or assessing a group. A chinagraph pencil works better than any felt tip pen as the nibs tend to become waterlogged.

This deck slate can be purchased at Knoydart but if you can't get hold of one I've also found that a small piece of white duck tape is just as effective.
